Outpatient treatment offers a way for patients to continue going to school, work, and spending time at home with their families while receiving the addiction recovery and care they need.

There are different types of outpatient treatment. Partial hospitalization programs allow for closer monitoring of the patient and are for those who need ongoing medical monitoring.

Outpatient treatment is generally described as mental health or medical care that you receive that does not require more than a 24-hour hospitalization period.

Even patients who spend overnights in the hospital but return home within 24 hours may be considered a part of outpatient treatment.

This training will help clinicians work in an OTP and IOP setting.

The training will focus on OTP evidence-based treatment approaches while adhering to the 14 guiding principles of OTP.

The training describes the core services every OTP should offer, the enhanced services available on-site or through links with community-based services, and the outpatient recovery process.
